Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra review

Overview
When you look at the Galaxy S24 and S24+, you can’t help but question if Samsung simply reissued the previous versions or if these are the new ones. However, the Ultra is an entirely different animal. The Galaxy S24 Ultra does improve upon what was already the best smartphone package by making some notable improvements.

Starting with the less reflecting display glass and the even blockier design with a completely flat face, some of the modifications are instantly apparent. Although you won’t notice it right away, the glass should be more durable, and as the months pass, you might also value the decision to use titanium for the exposed frame.

The new 5x zoom telephoto is an even less evident development, but it could be a significant step in securing the Galaxy Ultra’s place as a top cameraphone. It is unquestionably superior to the previous model at 5x; will it be as excellent at 10x?

All of the ultimate Galaxies will have a Snapdragon 8, and the Ultra will not participate in the chipset division that has been reinstated for the lower variants.

Gen 3: if it matters, there are no Exynos here. The S24 Ultra will, in fact, feature every piece of AI technology developed by Google and Samsung to fill an hour of Unpacked 2024.

For better or worse, the battery capacity and maximum charging rate of this year’s model remain unchanged. The S Pen continues to be another unique feature that sets the Galaxy Ultra apart from the competition in terms of productivity and overall usefulness (it’s the finest camera remote, after all). Change may also be a good thing.

Before we finally get our hands on the Ultra, you can take another look at the main specifications below.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra unboxing

Another uneventful unboxing experience awaits, but it’s not like the slimline box is making any promises. A SIM eject pin is still included, though a line in the instructions that says ‘use a paper clip or an earring’ could be replacing that in the near future.
